Terms of service

These terms apply to everyone who uses Mela Marketplace: buyers, sellers and visitors. By creating an account or placing an order you agree to them.

Your account You must give accurate details and keep your password and two-factor codes private. You are responsible for activity on your account. Seller and administrator accounts must use two-factor authentication. We may suspend accounts that break these terms, the law or other people's rights.

Orders and contracts Products are sold by independent sellers. When you place an order, your contract of sale is with the seller; Mela Marketplace provides the marketplace, payment handling and buyer protection. Prices, delivery fees and discounts are confirmed by our system at checkout; the amount shown when you place the order is what you pay.

Payment You can pay a deposit of 30% and the balance after delivery, or pay in full, using the payment methods shown at checkout (for example online payment, your Mela Wallet or cash on delivery). Never pay a seller outside Mela Marketplace: payments made outside checkout are not protected.

Delivery, returns and disputes Delivery is described in our Shipping & delivery policy and returns in our Returns & refunds policy. If you and a seller cannot agree, you can open a dispute from the order and our team will decide based on the evidence from both sides.

Sellers Sellers must describe products truthfully, keep stock and prices accurate, ship on time and follow Ethiopian law, including tax, consumer protection and product safety rules. Mela Marketplace charges a commission on sales, shown in Seller Center. Seller earnings are paid out after orders are delivered and paid.

Prohibited use Do not list illegal, counterfeit or dangerous goods, post false reviews, harass other users, scrape the site or try to bypass security or rate limits.

Liability We work to keep the marketplace available and accurate but cannot guarantee it is free of interruptions. To the extent the law allows, our liability for any order is limited to the amount paid for that order. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Ethiopian consumer protection law.

Changes and law We may update these terms and will show the date of the latest version on this page. These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.
